Child Citizen Orchestra takes the stage at Caixa Cultural Recife for Christmas opening ceremony

Concert will be streamed live this Tuesday, December 15, on YouTube and on Instagram, due to social distancing measures

This year’s Christmas opening ceremony with the Child Citizen Orchestra at Caixa Cultural Recife will have a different format, but its magic and commitment to the audience will be kept intact. This time, the concert will be broadcast live on Instagram and on their YouTube channel.

Caixa will also broadcast the concert on its Facebook page and on YouTube. Live streaming has been the best solution found by Caixa and the CCO to connect with their audience while social distancing is still required.

Under the baton of the newly-appointed Assistant Conductor, Jadson Dias, seventeen string and percussion musicians of the Orchestra will present a programme of seven well-known Christmas tunes, featuring “O Holy Night” by Adolphe Adam; “Adeste Fideles”, of uncertain authorship; Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” and “Jingle bell rock”, by Joseph Beal and James Boothe. All safety measures and precautions will be taken very seriously to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“I am very excited about this concert at Caixa Cultural Recife, for it’s my first performance as assistant conductor of the Orchestra. I’ve always worked as a choir conductor and now that I have the opportunity to work with an orchestra, there couldn’t be a better one. Furthermore, having Maestro Lanfranco Marcelletti Jr., who’s internationally renowned for his competence and humanity, as principal conductor, makes this experience even more special. I feel privileged”, celebrates Maestro Dias.

Child Citizen Orchestra’s last concerts of 2020 have been scheduled for December 22 and 29, and will also be live streamed from Caixa Cultural Recife.

The Child Citizen Orchestra is a social music project run by the Child Citizen Benefit Association with the aid of the Ministry of Tourism through a tax incentive programme, and sponsored by Caixa Econômica Federal and the Brazilian Government.
