CCO attends Caixa Econômica Federal 160th celebration
Both performances happened today in Brasília and were attended by President Jair Bolsonaro and Caixa’s chairman, Pedro Guimarães

The Child Citizen Orchestra went to Brasília to attend, on January 11 and 12, the Caixa Econômica Federal 160th celebrations, the CCO’S master sponsor. Due to the cautions related to the pandemic, the musicians group has been shortened.
The agenda included two concerts, both of them on this Tuesday (12). In the morning, the solemnity took place at the Planalto Palace with the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, government ministers and Caixa’s chairman, Pedro Guimarães. At the occasion, they announced the last results of the bank during the last biennium, as well as the projects in development.
In his speech, Bolsonaro exalted the way that Brazilian people overcome their challenges and congratulated the Child Citizen Orchestra, which has performed along with Tourism Minister, Gilson Machado Neto, in “Asa Branca”, by Luiz Gonzaga and Humberto Teixeira and “Chuva de Honestidade”, by Flávio Leandro, symbolizing the Northeastern culture. The musicians from Coque and Ipojuca closed the concert with “Evidências”, a classic sertanejo famous song with Chitãozinho and Xororó and composed by José Augusto and Paulo Sérgio Valle.
Maestro Lanfranco Marcelletti Jr. enjoyed the oppportunity to thank Caixa for the support. “This project changed these boys lives, so they are here today playing in a professional orchestra”, said the regent. “And we are more than it: we don’t want just musicians, we do want citizens, and these boys and girls are”, concluded.
Caixa Cultural Brasília held the second concert, attended again by Caixa employees, the chairman Pedro Guimarães, and some of the institution vice presidents, alongside the representatives of other projects supported by Caixa, such as the Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional Children. Caixa’s clients from each part of the country were also there.
The celebration started with the musical performance and the repertoire included: the prelude of the opera “Carmen”, by Georges Bizet; “Serenade for strings”, by the Antonin Dvoák; Carlos Gomes’ “O burrico de pau”, “O trenzinho do Caipira”, written by Heitor Villa-Lobos and an exclusive musical arrangement in honor of Jackson do Pandeiro.
Judge João Targino, founder and administrative director of Child Citizen Orchestra, joined the musicians in the trip to Brasilia and highlighted: “this is one of the moments that we see the result of the given opportunities”.
PARTNERTSHIP
All the music stands, cellos and contrabasses were borrowed from the Brasilia Music School, across a partnership initiated in 2019, when the Child Citizen Orchestra attended the 11th BRICS summit, in Brasília.
