1st Citizen Child Orchestra Young Soloists Competition defines winners

Competition received ten finalists from three regions of the country and awarded a total of R $ 9,500.00 in prizes in the two disputed categories

Throughout this Thursday, the events of the final stage of the 1st Young Soloists Competition of the Citizen Child Orchestra took place, honoring the maestro, composer and arranger from Pernambuco Clvis Pereira. The competition, with exclusive sponsorship of Caixa Econmica Federal, received ten candidates from seven Brazilian states (RS, ES, SP, MG, RN, BA and PE) and distributed a total of R $ 9,500.00 in prizes.

The tests took place behind closed doors in the auditorium of the project's headquarters, and evaluated 10 candidates: four from category A, up to 15 years of age, and six from category B, between 16 and 21 years. The examining board (photo) was composed by maestro Nilson Galvo Jr., music director of OCC, and by professors Susan Hagar Moura, Leonardo Martinelli, Yerko Tabilo and Ademar Rocha. The delivery will be open to the public and will consist of a brief concert for the debut of the new OCC gala uniform, acquired with funds from Caixa Econmica Federal, the project's master sponsor and exclusive sponsor of the contest.

The winners' concert itself will take place in the first half of 2018. The presentation with the solo winners would take place this Friday, but the intense schedule of musicians' appointments in the week, both inside and outside the project, made it impossible to perform the confrontation plays of the competition.
